Student Support Services

We are leading in the Division of Student Support Services by removing barriers to academic achievement.

We believe that every student – regardless of where they are from or what situations they may find themselves in – deserves an opportunity to reach their fullest potential and be the very best they can be.

With that goal in mind, our division supports academics by providing a variety of services for our students and their families. We handle attendance and discipline issues, provide intervention for students who are deemed at-risk, and we operate alternative schools to get students back on the right track.

We offer guidance and counseling, nursing and health services. We provide aid to more than 5,000 students who are classified as being homeless.

We store student records, monitor school zones and host student registrations.

And we operate the largest transportation fleet in the state, with about 603 buses transferring 26,000 students to and from school every day. Our buses travel 41,964 round-trip miles per day
